Indulge Guilt-Free: Smart Eating Tips You Need!

Hey Everyone,

Are you tired of feeling like you have to choose between eating healthy and indulging in your favorite foods? Well I have some exciting news for you: You don't have to sacrifice one for the other! With a few simple tweaks and smart choices, you can enjoy delicious meals while still making progress towards your fitness goals.

Burgers everyone loves them, from back yard bbq's to late night drive through trips they're a comfort food favorite for most of us. But did you know that you can make a burger that not only tastes amazing but also supports your health and fitness journey?

Incorporating nutrient-rich ingredients like lean protein, whole grain buns, and plenty of veggies can transform your burger from a guilty pleasure into a nutritious meal. And he best part? You won't even miss the greasy, calorie packed versions you used to get once you start making these:

High Protein Burgers (~400 calories each)

Ingredients:

1 lbs 90/10 ground beef

1 egg

Crackers

1-2 tsp black pepper

Hamburger buns

Low fat cheese

Lettuce

Tomato

Directions:

  1. Place your lean ground beef in a bowl and add 1 whole egg and your seasoning. Mix well.

  2. Crush up a few crackers and mix them in with your ground beef mixture. This will act as binder so your burgers don't fall apart. (You can also use bread crumbs)

  3. Divide your ground beef into 4 even portions and roll them up into round balls. Press them to your desired thickness and cook them on a hot pan with light cooking spray. About 4 minutes per side. (cooking time will vary depending on the thickness of your patty)

  4. Wash your veggies and prepare them to top your burger.

  5. Once your burgers are done add a slice of low fat cheese to each on and let it melt.

  6. Assemble your burger and enjoy!

Optional:

  1. I like using Lucerne reduced fat cheddar for my burgers.

  2. Toppings can be substituted for whatever you like. Grilled onions and jalapeños are a great option.

  3. Adding sauces like mayo and ketchup will increase the calories of your burger so use it sparingly.

But burgers are just the beginning. From pizza to tacos, there are endless ways to enjoy your favorite foods while still nourishing your body. It's all about making mindful choices and finding creative ways to add more nutrients to your meals without sacrificing flavor.
